Auction Moves Online

May 31-June 7

This year’s Glebe Auction will be held online.  Bidding begins at 8PM on Sunday, May 31, and ends at 8PM on Sunday, June 7.  We will provide information on how to register for online bidding and access the online catalog as the event draws closer.  Just like in prior years, the items you’ve come to know and love, such as Glebe Experiences, Teacher Donations, and Classroom Projects, will be available, alongside donations from our generous community, families, and supporters. Also, we will host a special portion of the online bidding in a live format, with designated live auction items, on Sunday, June 7, beginning at 8PM.

The Golden Raffle Live Auction Ticket is still in effect. For $100, you have the chance to “steal” any item of your choice from the live auction items (see rules and restrictions HERE). Golden Raffle ticket holders are invited to watch the drawing online on Sunday, May 31, at 7:30PM, and have your cell phone and choice ready. You must be available at 7:30 PM to claim your prize! You can still buy Golden Tickets here.

For those who have purchased a drink band to the 2020 Social & Auction, please consider making your drink band purchase a donation; alternatively, you can use your drink band purchase as credit towards a purchase during the online auction, or as a drink band for the 2021 Social & Auction.  Please email glebeauction@gmail.com to confirm your preference.  Refunds are also available.

If you have any questions please feel free to email the Social & Auction Committee here or the PTA here.

News from External Affairs – Laura LoGerfo

At the end of March, APS held a meeting for school representatives to discuss what kind of choice schools would be attractive options for parents and students.  APS calls these options Instructional Programs Pathways (IPP).  The conversation ranged widely:  Do we want an arts-focused high school?  A STEAM-driven middle school?  Another immersion school?  Themes?  Grade-levels?  Many ideas were floated, many notes were taken, and now it’s your turn if you want to share your thoughts:
  • A draft IPP framework and an online community survey will be available from now until May 13 at www.apsva.us/prek-12-instructional-programs-pathway-ipp/
  • A drop-in open house focused on IPP options will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on April 30 at Kenmore Middle School.
  • APS will continue to share information on the IPP via the weekly APS Ambassador updates, School Talk messages, and social media
