During this first of it’s kind school year parents have had the unique opportunity to work, grow and sometimes struggle with their children as a result of the distance learning model and increased experiences of togetherness.

Join this Caregiver Conversation with Glebe School Psychologist, Eleanor Lewis and Glebe Social Worker, Catherine Hall, for a discussion about ways to engage with and motivate your child using tools you have at home.  We are offering two opportunities to join the conversation:

Box Tops Collection Update

While Glebe’s BoxTops for Education collection box is closed, families can submit receipts via the BoxTops app, available in the Apple Store and Google Play.  You must create your own account and link it to Glebe (School ID#385133).

YES!  See this page for step-by-step directions and a list of participating retailers.  Note that Giant, Harris Teeter, Target, Safeway, and Wegmans are on the list.  Unfortunately, Amazon is not.

APS LogoAPS Updates

Next School Board Meeting

The next School Board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Nov. 5. It will include an update on the 2020-21 school year from Dr. Durán, the presentation of the Superintendent’s elementary school boundary recommendation, the proposal to change the Barcroft Elementary School modified calendar to the traditional APS elementary school calendar, and action on the School Board’s 2022 budget direction. The meeting can be viewed live online and on Comcast Cable Channel 70 and Verizon FIOS Channel 41. Visit the School Board webpage to view the full agenda and information on how to share your input.

APS and School Resources Officers Work Group Seeks Committee Members

Stakeholders interested in joining a 48-member Work Group that will work with staff in reviewing our school division’s relationship and operations with School Resource Officers (SROs) can submit applications through Nov. 9, 2020. Applications can be completed online in English and Spanish or in print by accessing an online application in Amharic, Arabic or Mongolian and following instructions for returning the completed form to APS. APS will gather community feedback, as well as recommendations from stakeholders to the School Board and Superintendent, on the future of this relationship. More information is available on the APS Engage SRO webpage.

2021 School Year Information and Planning for Hybrid/In-Person Instruction

Information and updates about the 2020-21 school year and planning for hybrid/in-person instruction are available at The information includes the latest updates from Superintendent Dr. Durán and FAQs on instructional models, technology, meals and more.
