PTA Updates

The Glebe PTA Proposed budget for fiscal year 2020-2021 is now posted on our web site. Voting on the budget is open ONLINE and the deadline to cast your vote is June 10, 2020. Please click HERE to see the full details.

We have 2 Executive Board Positions which will be open for the 2020-2021 school year: Vice President of Communications, Vice President of External Affairs. We are also looking for someone to help with the Glebe PTA website over the summer.  If you are interested in any of these positions, please email us!

The VP for External Affairs provides liaison services between the community and the school, the neighborhood and the school, and the district and the school.

The VP of Communications assembles and distributes our weekly electronic newsletter and sends any single email communications to the Glebe PTA community as needed.  You will work mostly with the Glebe PTA President and also with the rest of the Executive Board, and you do not need to be tech savvy to take this one!

APS Updates

APS has voted to end the 2019-2020 school year 1 week early.  The final day of school will be Friday, June 12.

Due to the continued school closure, APS will offer a variety of summer learning programs online.  You can find information about what’s being offered and how to enroll your child here.

APS Interim Superintendent Ms. Cintia Johnson has released a framework for reopening schools for the 2020-21 school year.  You can view the proposed options here and you can read new Superintendent Dr. Francisco Duran’s June 5 update here.  APS has organized a stakeholder task force to help guide the process for distance learning or a hybrid model involving in-person and online instruction. A survey for parent input will be sent out soon; for now, if you have questions, you can email APS Engage.
