PEP Talks

PEP Talks

The Parent Encouragement Program (PEP) is a nonprofit, educational organization that has a local office which offers classes, events and other educational resources to parents and other caregivers. PEP reads dozens of publications, so you don’t have to, and maintains an online parenting help library with parenting news reports, opinion pieces, videos, and other resources. You can search by topic, child’s age and/or publication. Or you can sign-up for a class on a topic that’s of concern to you.

APS Parent Academy

The APS Parent Academy is a partnership of APS and Arlington County organizations committed to supporting children and families.  The APS Parent Academy offers parents and guardians of children attending schools in Arlington opportunities to obtain information on a wide variety of subjects, including:

  • Child development and student achievement
  • Internet safety
  • Personal or family growth
  • Programs for second language speakers
  • Countywide events and information nights, including Kindergarten, Middle and High School Information Nights, College Night, and the Summer Activities Fair

Celebrate Calm

Kirk Martin is a local expert in working with strong-willed children/children with special needs. Martin has spoken at Glebe Elementary and offers free tips and encouragement through his newsletter and blog.
