PTA Executive Board Vacancies
Are you a planner, a leader, a CPA, or really good at taking notes? Glebe PTA President, VP Activities & Programs, VP Ways & Means, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and Correspondence Secretary will be vacant and need awesome volunteers for next school year. Please consider helping the PTA move into the post-pandemic 2021-2022 school year by serving on the PTA Executive Board. Glebe PTA Spring Book Fair & Books + PJs
The Glebe PTA Spring Book Fair will be held Monday, May 17 to Friday, May 21, and is brought to you by R.E.A.D (Read Early and Daily). R.E.A.D has worked directly with our Librarian, Ms. Wine, to ensure that titles your children love will be available, with 20% of all sales going to fund PTA activities for the next school year. In addition to an online store, R.E.A.D and Glebe will be hosting an in-person pop-up shop at the Mt. Olivet playground from 2PM to 5PM on Monday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 19. Parent volunteers are needed to help with the pop-up; please email Jessica Burke (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested, and visit https://www.
Books + PJs is next Wednesday, May 19, from 7-7:30pm. An MSTeams invite will be sent by email prior to the start. The final Books + PJs of the year will be Wednesday, 6/9. Jamie and Ingrid will be our readers. Email Ms. Wine with any questions: Kristin.wine@apsva.
The Glebe PTA knows that being able to connect with other Glebe families will be particularly important this year. Visit our online directory here. Find more information about how our directory works here. You do not need to be a PTA member to access the directory; you just need to opt-in your children to the directory via ParentVUE. Your log-in information for the directory will be the same email you use to access ParentVUE. (It may not be the same the email you use to access the Glebe PTA website.) The online directory is kept on a separate platform with additional restrictions, so you must log-in to it separately.

Earn Your Wings
Here are a few tips to help you get and stay connected.
#1 — Join the PTA, or renew your membership. Update your family information in our PTA member records. (This is different than the official school directory.) This gives you full access to the PTA website and supports your school this year
#2 — If you’re a new Gleagle, please sign up to receive our PTA email newsletters. These will be even more important this year. They will contain ZOOM links to meetings, as well as critical information about events and projects. You can review previous newsletters here.
#3 — Sync your smart phone calendar with us. Never miss an event, even a virtual one! More details and events can be found on our calendar page. Click on each event to get more details.

Community Service Committee
Event Chair: Shelly Stoneman
Looking for ways to help out this coming school year? We are looking for some parents to join the Glebe Community Service committee!
Our Community Service Committee helps coordinate volunteer opportunities within the Glebe community. We’ve picked up trash at Bon Air park, coordinated Thanksgiving meals for Glebe families, arranged Holiday Stars to ensure all kids open a present during the holidays, and packed meals for Food for Others. During the COVID-19, we have been working with Glebe Giving to deliver meals and gift cards to our Glebe families in need.
Committee members help as they can, and it’s not a big time commitment.
If you’d like to join this inspiring committee, please sign up here!
